She did her undergraduate studies in Biology at Florida Gulf Coast University and completed her Doctorate in Immunology and Microbiology at the University of Florida in 2012. It was during this time that she realized her passion for teaching and therefore decided to steer her career to academia as a full time clinical professor for didactic year PA students. Since 2019, she has taught the Principles of Bioscience and Evidence Based Medicine I and II courses and coordinates the Interprofessional Geriatrics Education Program (IGEP) I and II and Specialty Disciplines courses for the first year PA students. She also is the Chair of Admissions for the PA program.
