Alan is an award-winning public relations professional with years of experience in higher education communications. Alan graduated summa cum laude from the University of Maine in May 2016 with a B.A. in Journalism and Honors. Following graduation, Alan reported for The Journal Tribune in Biddeford, Maine, covering daily news in coastal York County and breaking several national stories. He later served as Digital Media Specialist for the University of Southern Maine, overseeing social media operations and producing the University’s monthly television show.

As Public Relations Strategist for UNE, Alan plays a key role in developing strategic communications in multiple forms, including web stories, press releases, and media pitches, as well as writing executive communications for senior leadership. 

In 2024, Alan was named the Maine Public Relations Council’s Rising Star in the field of public relations.

When he's not behind his computer, Alan can be found running and exploring Portland's gorgeous trails, trying out a new local eatery, playing tug-of-war with his Maine coon cat, or at home in the kitchen developing recipes for his one-day cookbook.
