Stephen Burt creates video in collaboration with poet Catherine Weiss for Belfast Poetry Festival

Stephen Burt, B.F.A., M.F.A., associate professor of art, and poet Catherine Weiss created a video as part of a collaboration initiated by the organizers of the 17th annual Belfast Poetry Festival.

For the video, titled, Burt contributed drawings of skeletons, which were then set into a usable font by Oran Suta, B.F.A., College of Osteopathic Medicine's medical illustrator/medical curriculum multimedia designer and teacher of scientific illustration.

The Belfast Poetry Festival celebrates poetry, community, and artistic possibility. An all-arts festival with poetry as the driving force, this year's event combined a variety show, art exhibit, and literary showcase. It is one of the few community-based, non-academic poetry festivals in the United States.

The Belfast Poetry Festival happens every year the weekend after Indigenous Peoples’ Day.
