Jennifer Tuttle takes part in First Friday reading event
Jennifer Tuttle, Ph.D., Dorothy M. Healy Professor of Literature and Health, recently moderated the First Friday at Maine Mechanics' Hall Reading Series event.
Hosted by Print Bookstore and held at Mechanics' Hall in Portland, the event featured a reading by Martha Ackmann of her new book, "These Fevered Days: Ten Pivotal Moments in the Making of Emily Dickinson," recently published by WW Norton & Co.
Ackmann is a journalist and author who writes about women who have changed America. A longtime member of the Gender Studies Department at Mount Holyoke College, Ackmann is one of the cofounders of "," of which Tuttle recently served as editor-in-chief.
The reading took place during Portland鈥檚 First Friday Art Walk, a free self-guided tour of art galleries, studios, museums, and alternative art venues on the first Friday of every month.
