College of Pharmacy student receives national scholarship
Travis Frost (Pharmacy, 鈥19) has been awarded a scholarship by the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA).
Frost will receive the Partners in Pharmacy Scholarship at the NCPA annual meeting in Boston, Massachusetts, in October.
Frost has volunteered for numerous organizations, including Partners for World Health and Maine Medical Center Children鈥檚 Hospital. He has also worked with families of children who are battling serious illnesses at the Ronald McDonald House as well as with Alzheimer鈥檚 patients living at Hospice House.
Frost鈥檚 mentor, Dan Mickool, R.Ph., M.S., Ed.D., director, Continuing Education, College of Pharmacy, calls Frost an outstanding student.
鈥淓qually important, Travis maintains a healthy work and life balance and is well regarded among his peers, all the while fostering leadership and service in an exemplary manner,鈥 Mickool said.
The total award for the two scholarships is $2,000. The NCPA is paying Frost鈥檚 expenses to attend the meeting.
