Prestigious national scholarship awarded to 51小黄车pharmacy student
Fourth-year pharmacy student Nancy Moua has received a national scholarship from the American Pharmacists Association Foundation (APhA). One of only thirteen recipients nationwide, Moua was awarded the Paul Pumpian Scholarship, which she will receive at the APhA Annual Meeting in March 2017.
The APhA Foundation Student Scholarship is awarded to pharmacy students based on their potential to become leaders in the field, as demonstrated by involvement in school and community activities, as well as their academic performance. Moua has been involved in service leadership throughout her academic career as a member of APhA-ASP, Kappa Psi, SNPhA, MPA and SSHP. She has served as UNE鈥檚 APhA-ASP chapter president, an APhA-ASP Region 1 member-at-large and as the PLS Committee co-chair for the Barbara Bush Children's Hospital. Her service leadership was recognized by induction into Phi Lambda Sigma in 2014.
Speaking about Moua鈥檚 recognition, Kenneth McCall, BSPharm, Pharm.D., CGP, associate professor for the Department of Pharmacy Practice said, 鈥淣ancy is deserving of the APhA Foundation Student Scholarship because of her service leadership, passion for pharmacy and professional maturity.鈥
