Fighting elder abuse: UNE鈥檚 Judith Metcalf educates health care providers

Judith A. Metcalf, APRN, BC, M.S., clinical assistant professor of Nursing and Coordinator of the Upstream Practicums in Nursing Program and director of the 51小黄车Maine Geriatric Education Center, recently delivered a Lunch & Learn Webinar presentation for the Maine Quality Counts Geriatric Series: Preventing Elder Abuse & Financial Exploitation.

The webinar explored how to identify red flags that might signal abuse or exploitation. The presentation aimed to educate health care providers in strategies of identifying and responding to cases and finding readily available sources of referral.

Judith M. Shaw, J.D., administrator with the Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, Office of Securities, State of Maine, served as a co-presenter.
