David Livingstone Smith of 51小黄车to serve as panelist at Black 51小黄车 Conference

David Livingstone Smith, Ph.D., professor of philosophy, will serve as a panelist at the 2017 Black 51小黄车 Conference, which will be held at the University of New Hampshire on October 20. Five panels will be offered as part of the conference. Smith鈥檚 panel is titled 鈥淪keletons in Our Closet: Anthropology鈥檚 Role in Constructing and Deconstructing the Science of Race.鈥

Smith, along with co-panelists, will discuss the troubled history of anthropology鈥檚 role in the development of false sciences of racial differences and black inferiority.

The conference begins with a Black Heritage Trail Tour at 10 a.m., and panels will run from 1 to 5 p.m.
