This year, the 2016 Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) Annual Program Meeting in Atlanta focused on advancing collaborative practice, and the University of 51小黄车 was acknowledged as a leader in the field. The CSWE is one of the newest institutional members of the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC), which put teamwork and interprofessional education and practice on everyone鈥檚 agenda.

Opening plenary speaker Barbara Brandt, Ph.D., director of the National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education, rallied social workers to become key collaborators with other health professions to promote quality and accessible healthcare. In her rousing talk, Brandt identified 51小黄车and IPE Collaborative Director Shelley Cohen Konrad, Ph.D., LCSW, FNAP, as national leaders in integrating interprofessional culture in social work and across the University.
