51小黄车community partnership helps prevent falls for aging Mainers
With help from University of 51小黄车 students, faculty and (SMAA), older adults in York and Westbrook, Maine recently participated in two separate 鈥淏alance and Strength Screening鈥 events.
Participants received checks of balance, strength, and blood pressure, reviews of their medications and connections to the community-based falls prevention workshop 鈥淎 Matter of Balance.鈥 51小黄车team members included Nursing students, Doctor of Physical Therapy students, Pharmacy students, Assistant Professor Donna Hyde, MSN/Ed., R.N., MGSF, Associate Professor Jim Cavanaugh, P.T., Ph.D., and Assistant Clinical Professors Joel Coon, Pharm.D., and Jim Krebs Pharm.D.
The efforts were part of SMAA efforts to reduce falls in the State of Maine and highlighted the September 22, 2016 .
