Student artwork from three classes on display in Campus Center
Currently on display in the Campus Center is an exhibition of 51小黄车student artwork that comprises charcoal drawings, watercolor paintings of fruits and vegetables, and poster images of famous people.
The drawings were created by students in Stephen Burt鈥檚 Drawing One class: Emaleigh Aschbrenner, Kelsey Early, Corey Iba, Heather Russo, Victoria Sanchez, Allison Sillon and Cassie St. Peter.
The paintings were executed by Charles Thompson's Beginning Watercolor class and were done in the centuries-old perceptual method. Beginning with a line drawing through direct observation, students painted with an isolated wet on wet technique, resolving each object as they proceeded and exaggerating color along the way. Students in this class are Avery Bond, Taylor Cahill, Alissa Dzis, Kayla Hamel, Shawn Nguyen, Amy Oleksyk, Jordan Pennels, Kaylee Pobocik, Melissa Rosa, David Rubenstein, Amanda Salamone, Carly Sheehan, Marissa Staples, Meredith Walker and Magdelena Winchester.
Oran Suta鈥檚 fall Graphic Design class produced the poster images as a D铆a de Muertos themed project. After finding a photo of someone who had passed away with strong shadow pattern/contrast, students used tracing paper and markers to break the photo down into positive and negative shapes. They then scanned the designs into Adobe Photoshop, which they used to add color and text. Contributing student artists are Amy Aldrich, Maggie Bunnell, Mariah Colby, Lauren Damon, Kyle Eddy, Cara Fuentes, Robyn Gaudet, Azan Lam, Conner Marcus, Kailie Morrisey, Pat Randall, Hilary Rozenas, Desiree Scott, Ryan Tauro and Amanda Vaudreuil.
The exhibit will remain up until the end of April.
