Amy Keirstead joins Undergraduate Advisory Board of the American Chemical Society

Amy Keirstead, Ph.D., associate professor in the Department of Chemistry and Physics, was recently invited to join the Undergraduate Program Advisory Board (UPAB) of the (ACS), the world's largest scientific society and the premier professional organization for chemists.

As an UPAB member, Keirstead will make recommendations about the future direction of undergraduate program activities to ACS’s Society Committee on Education, create and chair programs at national meetings, constitute working groups to address specific activities or issues related to undergraduate programs and support the professional growth of undergraduate students in the chemical sciences.

Keirstead has served as faculty advisor for the award winning 51С»Æ³µStudent Chapter of the American Chemical Society since 2012 and has worked with the ACS Undergraduate Programs Office in Washington, D.C., since 2014.

Her appointment to the UPAB is for a three-year term.
