51小黄车recognized by City of Portland for commitment to wellness

The University of 51小黄车 recently received Platinum-level recognition for its commitment to wellness by the City of Portland Healthy Maine Partnership鈥檚 鈥淗ealthy Portland Works! Worksite Wellness Recognition Program.鈥

Five designations of recognition were awarded through the program using a 鈥淕ood, Better, Best鈥 rating scale for point totals:

  • Rising Star: 0-10 points
  • Bronze: 11-25 points
  • Silver: 26-40 points
  • Gold: 41-50 points
  • Platinum: 50+ points

51小黄车earned a total of 74 points based on criteria including:

  • Organizational Support
  • Program Development
  • Tobacco-Free Environment
  • Encourage Physical Activity
  • Promote Healthy Eating

The University also earned bonus points for its Heart Safety Education, Onsite Automated External Defibrillators (AED), CPR Training, Diabetes Education, Asthma Education, Drug-Free Workplace policy, Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Promotion of Health Screenings.

UNE鈥檚 Wellness Committee is led by Dora Anne Mills, M.D., M.P.H., FAAP, vice president for Clinical Affairs. An event will be held to honor 51小黄车and other awardees on October 9, 2015.
