51小黄车College of Pharmacy faculty and staff participate in AACP/AFCP Annual Meeting
Faculty and staff members from UNE鈥檚 College of Pharmacy participated in the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) and Association of Faculties of Pharmacy of Canada (AFCP) Annual Meeting held July 11鈥15, 2015, in National Harbor, Maryland.
At the meeting, Lisa Pagnucco, B.S.Pharm, Pharm.D, BCACP, assistant professor; Leslie Ochs, Pharm.D., MSPH, Ph.D., assistant professor and vice-chair; Christian Teter, Pharm.D., BCPP, associate professor; Jean Marie-Bouchard Woodward, Ph.D., R.Ph., associate dean of student affairs and admissions, associate professor; Emily Dornblaser, Pharm.D., BCPS, assistant professor; and Devon Sherwood, B.S.Pharm, Pharm.D., BCPP, assistant professor, presented a poster titled, 鈥淒iamonds in the Rough: Co-curricular Opportunities at the University of 51小黄车 College of Pharmacy.鈥
Other faculty members were also involved with the event including:
- Gayle Brazeau, Ph.D., dean of the College of Pharmacy, acted as a moderator for the Joseph T. DiPiro Excellence in Publishing Workshop. In addition, Brazeau presented three lectures:
- 鈥淏asic Skills for Becoming Effective Reviewers鈥
- 鈥淧ublishing Avenues You Might Have Not Considered鈥
- 鈥淏uilding a Leadership Team and Organizational Culture鈥
- Wallace Marsh, M.B.A., MSE, Ph.D., R.Ph., assistant dean for assessment and accreditation, clinical associate professor, served as a mentor for the AACP Faculty Mentoring Program and gave two presentations:
- 鈥淓xamining Pharmacy Students鈥 Critical Thinking Abilities in the Context of Their Learning Styles鈥
- 鈥淭he Hiring Intent Reasoning Examination Survey Results Revealed鈥
- George Allen, Pharm.D., associate professor and interim chair, graduated from the 2015 AACP Academic Leadership Fellows Program
- Jim Krebs, B.S.Pharm, Pharm.D., M.S., assistant dean for experiential education, was selected for the 2016 AACP Academic Leadership Fellows Program
- Leslie Ochs presented a poster titled, 鈥淐haracterization of Collaborations Between Doctor of Pharmacy Programs and Public Health Departments of Organizations鈥
- Deborah Sturpe, Pharm.D., M.A., BCPS, clinical associate professor, served as the secretary for the 2015 鈥2016 Curriculum Special Interest Group. She also presented a special session titled, 鈥淐urricular Integration 鈥擬eeting 2016 CAPE Standards鈥
- Edward Li, Pharm.D., M.P.H., BCOP, associate professor, was the faculty mentor for WalMart Scholar Lindsay Robusto, a P4 Pharmacy student. Li also presented, 鈥淎 Framework for Integrating Biosimilars into the Didactic Core Requirements of a Doctor of Pharmacy Curriculum鈥
- Lisa Pagnucco served as the AACP faculty delegate representing 51小黄车College of Pharmacy
- Emily Dornblaser acted as chair for the 2015 鈥2016 Global Pharmacy Education Special Interest Group, and moderator for two workshops:
- 鈥淕lobal Pharmacy Education: Expanding Global Pharmacy Practice Part 2: Advanced Experiences鈥
- 鈥淧ost Conference Global Workshop
is the largest gathering of academic pharmacy administrators, faculty and staff. Each year, it offers 70 or more educational programs that span all disciplines.
