Monica Alborg presents research findings in community
Monica Alborg, M.D., M.P.H., adjunct instructor for Graduate Programs in Public Health, gave several presentations throughout the state about her research findings on quality improvement strategies to decrease noise levels in hospitals:
- In mid-April, Alborg was invited to present as a guest lecturer, sharing her expertise with nursing students at the University of Southern Maine
- In early May she was recruited to present her research to the public at the Muskie School of Public Service.
Through her research, Alborg discovered that specific interventions can reduce malpractice risk, reduce employee turnover, decrease medical errors, decrease readmission rates, improve healing and increase scores on patient satisfaction surveys.
Her findings will be distributed to hospitals in Maine.
