Ana Arias ’15 awarded Educational Prize by the European Society of Endodontics
Ana Arias, D.D.S., Ph.D., (MMEL 2015), and her colleagues OA Peters and IA Broyles were awarded the Educational Prize by the European Society of Endodontics at their 2015 Biennial Congress in Barcelona Spain for her presentation “Innovations in teaching biostatistics to residents in endodontics fellowship: a pilot study.”
The project was conducted at the University of the Pacific, Dugoni School of Dentistry as part of an Independent Study in Advanced Curriculum design for the Master of Science in Medical Education Leadership with her advisor India Broyles, Ed.D.
Arias’s manuscript entitled "Educational outcomes of small group discussion versus traditional lecture format in learning and skills acquisition," was also recently accepted for publication in the Journal of Dental Education. The research study was conducted as her Applied Project in the MMEL program with Elizabeth McClain, Ph.D., Ed.S., MPH, as her faculty advisor and co-author.
