Mike Burman, Kristen Erickson, Alex Deal, and Rose Jacobson ‘13 publish in 'PLOS ONE'
Michael Burman Ph.D., assistant professor in the Department of Psychology, along with staff members Kristen Erickson and Alex Deal and alum Rose Jacobson (Medical Biology, ’13) recently published a paper that examines the ontogeny of anxiety in the journal PLOS ONE.
The article, "Contextual and Auditory Fear Conditioning Continue to Emerge during the Periweaning Period in Rats,” demonstrates that several types of fear conditioning continue to develop during the transition from infancy to early childhood in rats. This suggests that this period may be a critical window for the emergence of pediatric anxiety disorders.
