Christian Teter serves as grant application reviewer for CDC
Christian J. Teter, PharmD, BCPP, associate professor of psychopharmacology for the College of Pharmacy, recently served as a grant application peer reviewer for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), National Center for Injury Prevention and Control. He was a member of the Special Emphasis Panel formed to review grant applications submitted for a funding opportunity announcement titled 鈥淩esearch on Integration of Injury Prevention in Health Systems.鈥
In December of 2013, the CDC committed up to $800,000 to, 鈥渟upport research that informs the link between public health and clinical medicine in injury prevention by: 1) developing the evidence base for clinical preventive services in the area of prescription drug overdose and 2) investigating models for partnership between hospitals and state/local health departments in designing community health needs assessments and improvement plans that incorporate injury prevention,鈥 according to the Department of Health and Human Services.
Teter was highly recommended to serve as a peer reviewer given his extensive prescription drug abuse research record, which includes authoring numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts and textbook chapters.
