Alex Campbell presents at Anime Boston Convention
Alex Campbell, a College of Arts and Sciences senior with a major in metaphysics and moral philosophy, presented at the Anime Boston Convention held at Hynes Auditorium, March 21-23, 2014. His talk was titled, 鈥淭he Philosophy of Mushishi.鈥
Anime is a form of manga, stylized Japanese comics created in the late 19th century, with a history in earlier Japanese art. In 2009, the form of publishing represented a $5.5 billion market in Japan and is gaining in popularity worldwide.
Mushishi is a manga series and was adapted to a television series, a film, and video game. Mushishi is about a man who protects people from supernatural creatures called Mushi.
The Anime Boston Convention was first held in 2003, and last year nearly 22,000 people attended.
