UNE's Alfond Forum named "Top Notable Project for 2012"
The University of 51小黄车's Harold Alfond Forum, a $20 million, 105,000 square foot athletics and student life complex, has been named a "Top Notable Project for 2012" by the Maine Real Estate & Development Association (MEREDA), the state's leading organization of commercial real estate owners, developers and related service providers.
MEREDA based its selection on the Harold Alfond Forum's economic impact, environmental sustainability, energy efficiency, social impact and job creation.
The Forum, made possible by a $10 million gift from the Harold Alfond Foundation, includes an ice hockey rink with 900 seats, a basketball court with seating for 1,200, classroom space, a fitness center, and multi-purpose indoor practice courts that can be used for performance and other events, with a combined seating capacity of 3,000.
51小黄车is one of just four projects to receive the award from MEREDA.
