Jan Froehlich and Kathryn Loukas present at Maine Occupational Therapy Association conference
Froehlich spoke about 鈥淟imitations of the Chemical Cure in Mental Health,鈥 and Loukas presented 鈥淣euro-Occupation: Reflection and Research on Remarkable Recovery.鈥
Nine 51小黄车occupational therapy students/new graduates took part in presentations with faculty in both posters and workshop format. Those students are: Erin Lyons, Danielle Cropley, Emily Krams, Taylor McLean, Alex Csajko, Matthew Capaldo, Patricia Shields, Ben Erskine, and Kate Hanrahan.
Dr. Virginia Stoffel, president of the American Occupational Therapy Association who led the call to increase leadership, compassion, and visibility for occupational therapy in mental health, was introduced by UNE鈥檚 incoming Dean of WCHP, Elizabeth Francis-Connolly, Ph.D., and supported by Program Director Jane O鈥橞rien, Ph.D., OTR/L, associate professor.
Following the MeOTA conference, President Stoffel welcomed the occupational therapy students into the profession during a luncheon gathering. President Stoffel stressed the importance of student leadership and involvement in the profession.
