Brianna Bisesti receives American College of Sports Medicine BIG Award; presents published research

Brianna Bisesti '13, an athletic training major, received the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Biomechanics Interest Group (BIG) Award at the 60th Annual Meeting and 4th World Congress on Exercise in Medicine of the American College of Sports Medicine, which was held in Indianapolis, May 28-June 1, 2013.

At the event, Bisesti presented her research titled "A Comparison Of Knee Moments During A Lateral Cutting Maneuver: Shod Vs. Barefoot."

Bisesti's abstract was also published in Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise (MSSE), Volume 45:5 Supplement 2013.

This past fall, she was the recipient of the 51小黄车 Chapter of the American College of Sports Medicine (NEACSM) Undergraduate Student Investigator Award in Providence, Rhode Island. She also received the NEACSM Undergraduate Research Experience Grant for this project.

Lara Carlson, Ph.D., FACSM, assistant professor of applied exercise science, and Michael Lawrence, M.S., 51小黄车Biomechanics Laboratory manager, were her faculty advisors for the project.
