Ed Bilsky and Amanda Braithwaite publish in ‘Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters’
Two members of the Bilsky laboratory are co-authors on a recent article published in Bioorganic & Medicinal Chemistry Letters. The paper, titled “6_-N-Heterocyclic substituted naltrexamine derivative NAP as a potential lead to develop peripheral mu opioid receptor selective antagonists” investigated novel neutral antagonists, NAP and NAQ, for the treatment of unwanted GI side effects that are associated with chronic opioid exposure.
The team that carried out the project included Edward Bilsky, Ph.D., associate provost for research and scholarship and professor of biomedical sciences in COM, along with current CAS senior, Amanda Braithwaite (’13). The work was done in collaboration with colleagues at Virginia Commonwealth University.
