Colin Willis attends Headache on the Hill program in Washington, D.C.

University of 51小黄车 Assistant Professor of Biomedical Sciences Colin Willis, Ph.D., recently attended the fifth Headache on the Hill program in Washington, D.C., as part of the Alliance for Headache Disorders Advocacy.  Willis is a faculty member in the 51小黄车College of Osteopathic Medicine and the Center for Excellence in the Neurosciences.

The purpose of the meeting was to increase awareness of and urge a congressional hearing on headache disorders. This event was organized by Dr. Robert Shapiro M.D., Ph.D. of the University of Vermont, and attended by more than 67 participants, including physicians, health care professionals, scientists and patients from 35 states who visited approximately 142 congressional offices.

Willis met with Representative Chellie Pingree, of Maine's 1st congressional district; Senior Legislative Assistant Jennifer Taylor; and health policy advisors to Senators Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins.
