Stephen Burt's work represents Maine in survey of printmaking in U.S.
Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Creative and Fine Arts Stephen Burt was invited, along with Bowdoin Professor Carrie Scanga, to represent printmaking from the state of Maine in a comprehensive survey of printmaking in the United States. The project, The State of Printmaking in America 2011, organized by the Visual Arts Department of the University of Louisiana, at Lafayette consists of two portfolios, 50 printmakers in total representing 鈥淓ast鈥 and 鈥淲est鈥 artists in the U.S.
The portfolio project is being incorporated into the museum collections of the University of Colorado and Nicholls State University, among others, and will travel through 2012 in a series of exhibitions beginning at Central Connecticut State University. will run Sept.14 - Oct. 14, 2011.
