One of 30 U.S. and Canadian students selected by the embassy for its Australian Student Ambassador program, Starke is an elementary education major at the University of 51小黄车 who studied abroad through GlobaLinks Learning Abroad's AustraLearn program.  She will promote study in Australia through campus events, peer advising and online social networking.

Nominated jointly by their home and overseas universities, students selected to participate in the ambassador program have the opportunity to develop skills and attributes valued by employers and graduate schools, including public speaking, organization, and leadership.  The Student Ambassador Program runs from August 2011 to May 2012, and student ambassadors are provided with event management training, a small budget to cover event expenses, materials and fun giveaways.
