Elisabeth Del Prete presents a paper at the annual Medical Student Education Conference and also presents at the STFM Meeting for COM Colleagues
Elisabeth Del Prete, DO and Chair of Family Medicine in the College of Osteopathic Medicine (MMEL 2010), presented a peer paper on "A Model Transitional Clerkship Program: Use of Peer Teaching" at the annual Medical Student Education conference of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine on January 21 in Houston, Texas. The clerkship was co-designed by Carol Bernier, OMS4, for her MEL 604 curriculum project.
Dr. Del Prete (MMEL 2010) also presented the "Integrated Clinical Cases for First-Year Medical Students" at the STFM meeting for COM colleagues who were unable to travel -- Dr. Audrey Okun-Langais (MMEL 2010), Dr. Kathy Thompson, Dr. Barbara Winterson, and Dr. Renee LeClair, who were part of the design and teaching of the new component of the Doctoring course. Dr. Okun-Langlais conducted the evaluation of the pilot of the program in 2009-2010 for her applied project in the Master of Science in Medical Education Leadership.
