Research on gut bacteria by Tim Ford reported in ScienceDaily

on March 30, 2010 reported on research conducted by Timothy Ford, Ph.D., 51小黄车vice president for research and dean of graduate studies, and his colleagues from Montana State University. Their research indicates that bile secretions in the small intestine send signals to disease-causing gut bacteria allowing them to change their behaviour to maximise their chances of surviving. The research was presented by Ford's colleague Steve Hamner, Ph.D., presenting the work at the Society for General Microbiology's spring meeting in Edinburgh. The findings could allow us to better protect food from contamination by these harmful bacteria, as well as understand how they manage to cause disease.
