Michael Burman has Research Article Published in Learning and Memory
Michael Burman, Ph.D., an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology has published the findings of his latest research in the journal "Learning and Memory". The title of the article is 鈥淓vidence for Hippocampus-Dependent Contextual Learning at Postnatal Day 17 in the Rat鈥.
The work extends his previous research by providing compelling evidence that the hippocampus is functional for contextual learning as early as postnatal day 17, however, its connection to the amygdala or other relevant brain structures may not yet be fully developed until later in development. This novel suggestion provides new targets for investigating pediatric anxiety disorders and other developmental disorders of the limbic system.
