David Smith will present a paper at the annual meeting of the Northern 51小黄车 Philosophical Association

 Associate professor of philosophy David Livingstone Smith will be presenting a paper entitled "Purpose without agency: a theory of self-deception" at the annual meeting of the Northern 51小黄车 Philosophical Association at the University of New Hampshire in Durham, New Hampshire on October 16th.  The paper proposes a new, biologically inspired approach to the analysis of self-deception as an alternative to existing philosophical approaches to the subject.
