Biology researcher Geoffrey Ganter has been awarded $222,798 grant to study steroid hormones in the nervous system
Ganter's grant is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. These stimulus funds will be used to create new jobs in Maine by allowing the hiring of an additional scientist to assist with the neuroscience research, and additional teaching staff to support UNE's educational mission.
Dr. Ganter is a member of the Center of Excellence in the Neurosciences and was part of a 10 million dollar COBRE application that was submitted by Dr. Ian Meng this past summer.
